Using Multimedia in Learniverse
Learn how to enhance your courses with videos, audio, and smart embeds.
Multimedia elements make learning more engaging and effective. This guide explains how to incorporate various media types into your Learniverse courses.
What types of multimedia can I add to my courses?
Learniverse supports a variety of multimedia formats:
- Video embeds from platforms like YouTube and Vimeo with Q&A capabilities
- Audio content with integrated player controls and AI transcription (Pro)
- Smart embeds for URLs, iframes, and PDFs from external sources
- HTML embeds for custom interactive elements
- Images and diagrams to illustrate concepts
- Interactive exercises with multimedia components (quizzes, true/false, short answer)
Each type serves different learning purposes and can be combined to create comprehensive learning experiences.
How do I add videos to my course?
Adding videos is simple:
- Navigate to the section where you want to add a video
- Click the Add Content button
- Select the Video option
- Paste the YouTube URL, or alternatively, search for the video by clicking the Search button
- Click Save to add the video to your course
You can also add true/false exercises related to the video content using the True/False exercise component.
How can I use the audio player in my courses?
The audio player allows you to add narration, music, interviews, or other audio content:
- Navigate to the section where you want to add audio
- Click Add Content and select Audio (Pro feature)
- Record audio directly in the browser or upload your audio file
- For Pro users, AI automatically generates transcriptions for improved accessibility
- The player offers controls for play/pause, seek, and volume adjustment
- Students can easily navigate through the audio content and read transcriptions
Audio is especially useful for language learning, narrative content, or providing alternative ways to consume your course material. The AI transcription feature helps with accessibility and allows learners to follow along with text.
What if I need to embed content from a platform not directly supported?
If a platform isn't directly supported, you have two options:
- HTML Embed: For platforms that provide embed codes, use the HTML embed option to paste their code
- URL Embed: For simple websites, paste the URL and Learniverse will attempt to create an appropriate display
For HTML embeds, Learniverse ensures proper width handling and sanitizes the code to maintain security while preserving functionality.
